About Me:
I immerse myself in a sea and landscape. I am alive.
I recently had work accepted for the ING Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London. It was such a wonderful experience, seeing my work in such an amazing place, and seeing the the work of so many fantastic artists. What a fabulous evening!
Last year I volunteered for Seawilding, an organisation who are restoring sea grass meadows in sea lochs in Scotland. I am going again in 2026 for another week.
I walk alone in wild places noticing both tiny details and the whole land/seascape . I move in and out both physically and in my mind. Seeing both. Holding both. I am immersed, alone but not. Art, like walking, is an exploration. It can feel euphoric or fearful. Is full of choice and accident, decision and procrastination but essentially discovery. I feel alive.
I sketch, draw with ink, sand, salt crystals and salt water, document collected objects, ordering and altering then leaving them on the sand. I swim in the waves and creeks. I take images of myself in the spaces, I leave traces of where I have been that wash away with the incoming tide or the wind. I make ‘magical, mythical’ objects. In mapping the places with drawing, I return myself to the feeling of being there. Immersed in the work. Lost in solitude.
I have an MA Fine Art 2016. I have shown work at the Trinity Buoy exhibition in London, one of the top drawing exhibitions internationally. Also the RWA in Bristol and the Mall Galleries In London, and many other places around the country. I sell artworks and photographs nationally.
